Reorganization and Consolidation

Beginning in the early-mid Twentieth century, Iowa undertook a movement of reorganizing and consolidating its small country schools so as to increase both educational and financial efficiency. Many of the official records which document the events of this historical (and ongoing) reformation are housed in the Center for the History of Rural Iowa Education and Culture's Rural School Records at the University of Northern Iowa.

This online exhibit showcases a sampling of the types and kinds of these reorganizational materials available for research.
