    The first school built on this plot was in 1876 and was 18 x 22 feet. As the community grew, so did the need for a new, larger schoolhouse. In 1906, the 24 x 34 feet building was built and within the next seven years a new bell and belfry were added. Some time after closing, the building was moved to the Guthrie County Fairgrounds in Guthrie Center, IA, where it is maintained as a museum.
