The Tusha School (Middle River School) was built in 1878 in section 12 of Lincoln Township, Madison County, and remained in use until 1939. It is named after the original landowners, Andrew and Mary (Clark) Tusha. In 1991 the building was moved to the Madison County Historical Society's property in Winterset. The original coal shed was restored by a local Eagle Scout and moved at the same time. As of 2024 the school is preserved and open to the public as a museum.
