Iowa School Reports, 1918-1960 were issued biennially by the Superintendent of Public Instruction. Each report consists of two primary sections – a narrative and summary of statistics. The narrative lists the members of the Iowa State Board of Public Instruction and describes the work performed by the divisions of the Department of Public Instruction during the biennium. The Department of Public Instruction consists of: State Board of Public Instruction, Department of Public Instruction, Administration, Division of Transportation, Division of Veterans’ Education, and Instruction. The summary of statistics section contains tables that detail enrollment and attendance, the number of schools, teaching positions, salaries, and amount and values of buildings in Iowa.
