Walnut #4 (Current Site)

The current site of the Bennet School (Walnut #4). According to the school's current owners, the West Des Moines Historical Society, this school was built between 1926 and 1927 and was in use as a school until at least 1941. After that, it was remodeled slightly to be used as a house but was eventually sold to the historical society who then moved it to its current location beside a Valley Community School District elementary school. In 1997 it was restored and today it is used as a museum. Photo by the West Des Moines Historical Society.
