This fire-fan was used to keep coals burning. Made from black toucan wing and red, yellow, and white toucan body feathers. The feathers are attached to a smooth wooden handle by tying them together loosely, allowing for the feathers to flop creating a breeze to feed the coals. The white body feathers are attached by their hide and tied together in the back with white cotton string that is stained tan with age.
