Trophy from the 1941 Tutor Ticklers. First prize to Warren SMith and Myron Messerschmitt. The Tutor Ticklers was first presented at Iowa State Teachers College in February 1930, under the direction of Clarence Paulsen. Since that time, it became the annual event presented by the students, fulfilling the purpose designated by President Latham when he suggested this means of fostering loyal friendships among the students. Each year the event become more and more interesting, each presentation profiting from the ideas derived from past productions. The thought of winning the prize cup was not uppermost in the minds of the students. Tutor Ticklers was a yearly “get-together,” an event which opens to students a way of knowing each other better and of working hand in hand to create a production representative of Iowa State Teachers College.
