Jacket has two chest pockets and two large flap waist pockets. Both sleeves have sergeant stripes. The left sleeve also has the large yellow, red and blue triangular armor patch. The left lapel sports the silver metal "U.S." insignia, while the right lapel has the silver metal armor cavalry pin. Each shoulder strap has an oval silver badge with green designs, flaming torch and the words "This we'll defend." Above the right breast pocket is a black plastic name tag with the name "Koster." b. 230 1977.30.1 Shirt Navy jumper. World War I U. S. Navy enlisted. Navy blue wool, heavy. Has a slash pocket on the upper left breast and a buttoned pocket on the inside right breast. Around the neck, and extending down the back of the top is a flap bordered by three 1/4" white stripes and embroidered with a white star at each of the two corners. The sleeves of the shirt are gathered at the wrists and buttoned with black plastic buttons that bear broad anchors. The cuffs are trimmed with three 1/4" white stripes, similar to the neck flap. On the middle of the left sleeve is sewn a 5 3/4" x 3 3/4" patch, indicating the rank of a petty officer first class, and consisting of two gold inverted "V" stripes, indicating years of service. On the inside back of the brassier there is a white tag with red text reading "PRiVATE LiFE; By Tru Balance; MADE IN U.S.A." on the front and "Style 13; A-B CUPS; Helanca; 100% NYLON" on the back. There are three areas that have been folded over and hand sewn, presumably to adjust sizing, two are in the waistband and one towards the back of one strap, all three are on the same side (what would be the left if the object was being worn.

Very simple with no decorative trim or design; edges have been folded over and machine sewn to prevent fraying; white spaghetti-style straps made from a synthetic material that resembles silk, most likely rayon, and each strap has two small metal pieces, painted white, that allow for the length to be adjusted. Ther is a small amount of fraying along the top and a small run has started along the bottom, but the onject is otherwise in good condition.
