1201 00.38.1.2.9 Jar One pint glass Mason jar with metal screw on lid. Glass has a slight blue tint, "Masons Patent Nov 30th 1858" is embossed on one side along with the logo for the Consolidated Fruit Jar Company, which is the letters "CFJC" overlapping in a way that somewhat resembles a "cent" symbol (¢). "D4.35." is embossed on the bottom of the jar. The lid is made of zinc with a white porcelain insert on the inside, in the center of the insert there is an embossed logo resembling an Iron cross with the letters "H, F, J, Co" spread across the four flared arms of the cross, "The Hero Fruit Jar Company Phila. PA." encircles the outside edge of the insert. This object is made up of two parts, the base (9a) and the lid (9b).

Color: WH,BK Beta Beta Beta, also known as the Tri-Beta's, is a national biological honorary fraternity that was formally established on campus as the Delta Iota chapter in May 1934. The honor society is for students of the biological sciences and promotes the dissemination of scientific proof and encourages investigation in the natural world. The group took many field trips to natural settings, created their own science magazine, and has hosted many programs since its founding. The group was inactive from 1954 to 1955 until it was reactivated in 1956, and continues to the present day at UNI.

Purdy, Schoolcraft, Mich."; metal lock plate and hammer, engraved with floral design; curved brass butt plate; brass trigger guard; metal retaining pin. Made is Schoolcraft, Michigan during the early 19th century and appears to be a 36 caliber.

1264 00.70.47 Gun Manton cap lock double barrel shotgun, English made sporting-arm, is equipped with a walnut wood stock, checkered piston-grip, metal side-plates, and double metal browned barrels. It is stamped, "E.B., 12, 33, 1.” It is also characterized by metal hammers and fittings, a metal butt plate, a walnut cleaning rod, a metal trigger guard, and engraved designs throughout. Joseph Manton was known as the “father of the modern shotgun.” The style of Mr. Manton was considered superior over others. 00.70.47 (Gun) image

1266 00.70.48 Gun, Shotgun This gun is a 122.5 cm caplock, double barrel, Belgium made sporting firearm, equipped with a walnut wood stock, and checkered pistol grip. The double steeled browned barrels are stamped with “Drisket & Waroux, J.M., 5, 5, 29200. The metal buttplate is stamped “N” indicating this weapon was produced in 1919.
