"D4.35." is embossed on the bottom of the jar. The lid is made of zinc with a white porcelain insert on the inside, in the center of the insert there is an embossed logo resembling an Iron cross with the letters "H, F, J, Co" spread across the four flared arms of the cross, "The Hero Fruit Jar Company Phila. PA." encircles the outside edge of the insert. This object is made up of two parts, the base (9a) and the lid (9b). | |
