Hollow and cylindrical in shape with a loose seam on one side; made out of compressed layers of a thick, black paper. "gr. G. Pzar. bkj 43" is painted around the seam in white, stenciled letters. This wrapper is from a German ammunition dump and was picked up near an over-run artillery in Bricquebec, Normandy, France.

272 1970.46 Revolver, Gun This tip-up model, seven shot, .22 caliber revolver was the first firearm made by Smith & Wesson. Introduced in 1857, the barrel of this revolver is designed to be tipped up and folded backward over the top strap in order to load it. Using the rammer rod under the barrel, cartridges can be removed after all 7 have been fired. Stamped across the top of the barrel is “Smith & Wesson Springfield Mass. Pat. This type of bullet would have been used in smooth-bore caplock muskets, not rifles.
