Around oval is second oval with the writing "hon soit que Mal y Pense" on blue background. Around this are oak leaves with acorns on them. Under this portrait are the words "Dieu et Mon Droit"; on back is a crown under which a large E small VIII in Roman numerals and large R are printed. Two ridges are embedded around bottom of cup. Handle is on right side.
