On the top is carved "EASTMAN PRINTING FRAME FOR 3 1/4 X 6 1/2 NEGATIVES" and underneath the first swivel is carved "EASTMAN KODAK CO., ROCHESTER, N.Y. MADE IN U.S.A." Front has a plate of glass that covers what looks like black felt and a cotton center.

23 1989.43.548.1 Box, Photograph White printing paper AZO box. Azo paper can be developed by gaslight and was manufactured by the Eastman Kodak Company. The edges of the box are worn, with cracks and tears leading from them. It also has several creases. 24 1989.43.559.1 Box, Photograph The Stanley Dry Plate box manufactured by Eastman Kodak Company. This box was produced very shortly after Kodak acquired the Stanley business. The box has a note that says "Successors to the Stanley Dry Plate Company". There is a fading of the overall color with watermarks and slight fraying along the edges of the box. A couple of tears and wearing on the undercarriage and sides but overall detail and structural integrity in tact. 1989.43.559.1 (Box, Photograph) image
25 1989.43.560.1 Box Pale green label on top (a) prominently reads "Seed's/Dry Plates" also reads, "Eastman Kodak Co./Rochester, N.Y./Successor to/M.A. Seed Dry Plate Co." Also reads "Keep in a Dry Place/Open Only in Darkroom/Trade Marks Reg. U.S. Pat. Off." A logo at top dipicts an arrow with a small banner attached near the arrow head. The hanging banner says "Seed/Plates" Behind the arrow's center is a starburst-like symbol with "Trade/Mark" in its center. A wavy border encloses the above description. Outside the wavy border, in the upper left reads "K P 2379a" Along left top edge of label, in pencil reads "Gourie & Cedar Falls (Ia)/ Bragg" Printed on side of box on yellow label "1 Doz./Seed's" on a blue background with gold border "GILT EDGE 27", on yellow "4 X5" Stamped above the size "15326" Box bottom (b) has little of note, something in black in was stamped on bottom "???? - 14" This box once contained items 1989.43.560.7, .14, .15, .20-.22, .24-.27. It also contained two (2) sheets of black paper 12 3/16" X 3 7/8". There was newspaper scrap as well. The newspaper had a date of 1923 published in it. Each of the glass plates were seperated by paper scraps cut to fit the size of the glass. Also enclosed were 6 sheets of paper with notes about the photographs, these were placed in an object file.

27 1994.32.159.1 Envelope From Giant Foto Service Box 642, Lincoln, Nebraska. Addressed in pencil to Mrs. Wesley Ford, Osceola, Iowa. Third Class Matter, with cancelled 1 1/2 cent postage stamp. Very few creases around corners are visible. There is also some fraying around the edges. There is a small spot of wearing on the red edge, and around the metal seal has some discoloration.
