Ladle bowl is made from a coconut shell and bound in silver, attached to the silver neck is a simple wooden handle that has been carved into a slight arch. The silver breaks off into three thin pieces where the neck meets the binding, two of these pieces have been welded directly to the binding that surrounds the outside edge of the coconut shell, the third is shaped into a decorative leaf with etched details which attaches on the back of the shell. The shell is attached to the silver with prongs and pins along the edge as well as a few additional pins attached through the decorative leaf. There is a white sticker with a red boarder attached to the bottom of the coconut shell, "52." has been written on it in black ink. There is significant wear on the handle and shell, causing discoloration; the silver is extremely tarnished and appears as a dull brown shade; the coconut shell is beginning to detach from the silver binding in one area near the handle.
