4 1976.85 Scrapbook ISTC scrapbook of Beatrice Erickson. "My Memory Book". 58 pp (16 white, 20 gray & 22 black). Illus. In b/w. Black leather scrapbook, bound by silk cord. Gold emblem with black letters - ISTC, on front cover. Includes clippings, address, photos, personal memorabilia, letters, sorority programs & social activities such as dinners. Photos depict life at Iowa State Teachers College as it was during the early 20th century. There are many photos of female students. Along with the photos are newspaper clippings, many of events in Mapleton Iowa. On the cover in the center is a large gold circle; inside the circle written in black is "Iowa State Teachers College". In the center of the circle is the lux medallion symbol also in gold. The top left corner has "My Memory Book" written in gold cursive. The inside cover has 13 b/w photos attached to it. The inside cover page has two ribbons on the left side, one purple and one gold, both hanging vertically. Written in black is "Entered Date", "September 10, 1919". Below that written in black is "Name", "Beatrice Erickson", "Address", "Arthur, Iowa". The page has 5 circles each with a different black and white drawing. Through out the book are various pages where items have been taken out or have fallen out. The book is held together by string and tied together on the binding. 44 2019-FIC-32 Scrapbook Scrapbook or Memory Book from Dorothy Hinson who attended Iowa State Teachers College in 1925. According to the book she lived in Bartlett Hall and was here until 1927 (About 16 months). Photographs inside the book show evidence of her teaching at a one-room schoolhouse.
