1 2010.17.76 Broiler Large coffee serving tray/broiler with four legs and also four extensions to make the legs taller, 2 handles on sides, and a storage drawer on the left side. A bit heavy. 70cm long, 19cm tall, and 46 cm width. Acquired in Libya some time between 1962-1982. Made of brass material. Used to prepare coffee, tea. 2 2023-FIC-1 Grinder Metal coffee grinder made up of four detachable pieces. 2023-FIC-1a: hand crank lever made up of three attached pieces of rough hewn metal, two longer pieces are attached with a simple pin hinge, allowing for the lever to be folded in half and the third is a brass-colored knob attached to one end of the lever via a pin through a hole on one end. On the other end of the lever is a square hole which goes over the metal rod in 2023-FIC-1c in order to operate the grinding mechanism. 2023-FIC-1b: brass-colored metal lid designed to go over the top of 2023-FIC-1c, the top is domed with a small lip around the edge and a circular hole in the center of the top to allow for the grinding mechanism to be used. 2023-FIC-1c: metal cylinder with decorative, brass-colored metalwork on the center and smooth, silver where 2023-FIC-1b and 2023-FIC-1d connect, it is open on either end. This cylinder houses the grinding mechanism which is attached by two flathead screws and a strip of metal welded into the bottom of the piece. The grinding mechanism itself is simple, consisting of a set of metal burr grinders, one secured to the inside of the cylinder and the other attached to a metal rod, allowing it to be spun. 2023-FIC-1d is a brass-colored metal cylinder with decorative metalwork, it is open on one end where it connects to 2023-FIC-1c and closed on the other, forming the base when all four pieces are together. This piece acts as a container for the grounds after they are processed.
