1	2017-26-14	Lega Mask	The wood and fiber Bwami mask combines the strength and sensitivity of the jewels of Laga art. The mask is oval in shape and displays all the typical features of the Lega style. It is carved from very light-colored and lightweight wood. Typical of the Lega is the heart-shaped face, concave in form, the characteristics slit eyes, the long, narrow nose and the small mouth. The face portion is depicted with white coloring with kaolin clay in the shape of a heart. The edge of the white heart-shaped face is marked by a continuous goroove. The outer edge of the mask, including the forehead and the top of the head , are dyed a contrasting blackish brown and surrounded by a fringe made of bast fibers that is attached to the perimeter of the head. Inside of the mask on the reverse is also dyed brown.
2	2017-26-15	Lega Mask	The wood and fiber Bwami mask combines the strength and sensitivity of the jewels of Laga art. The mask is oval in shape and displays all the typical features of the Lega style. It is carved from very light-colored and lightweight wood. Miniscule slit eyes flank the long, narrow black nose and the small open mouth. The face portion is depicted with white coloring with kaolin clay in the shape of a heart. The edge of the white heart-shaped face is marked by a continuous goroove. The outer edge of the mask, including the forehead and the top of the head , are dyed a contrasting blackish brown. A 'beard' made of aged bast fibers, which is already brittle, is attached to the edges surrounding the face. Inside of the mask on the reverse is also dyed brown.
3	2021-19-17	Mask	This mask is from the Yohure people. It features a rounded head with protruding curving antelope antlers that are carved with horizontal lines. The mask has two eye slits under carved eyelids and eyebrows that lead down to the skinny nose. There are ears present on the sides of the mask, and a grid pattern is carved under them on the cheeks. The mouth is an "O" shape with three horizontal lines on both sides next to mouth. There is a carved linear beard on the sides and chin of the mask, with a small knob located in the center. Along the rim of the mask are holes.
4	2021-19-18	Mask	This mask is likely from the Lulua people. It features a smaller head with a handle at the bottom for easier carry. The center of top of the head features a disk shaped paddle that is carved wwith horizontal and vertical lines. The face of the mask has two open eyes, high eyebrows, an open mouth, and a nose. There are intricate curved paintings on the mask, most likely using lye as a paint.
5	2021-19-20	Mask	This mask is a Mblo portrait mask from the Baule people. It is made of wood and is very smooth. The mask face features two closed eyes painted white, a long thin nose, an open circular mouth and ears. There is a small beard at the chin and carved symbols beside the nose. On top of the head is carved dark hair with horizontal and diagonal lines. There is a red line that wraps around the head. Sitting on the hair is a pot carved out of the same wood. It is painted red.
