Subject matter consists of brief excerpts of many famous authors and their stories. For example, in this book there is a section on animals and Theodore Roosevelt is the author of one story entitled "Hunting the Grizzly Bear". In the section called Winter, Ralph Waldo Emerson has a piece entitled "The Snow Storm". Many other well-known authors are also represented in the book. The literary stories range frojm Sir Thomas Mallory's King Arthur Stories to Theodore Roosevelt. On front cover is a picture of an orange knight holding a joust and riding a horse. Contains many classic stories and poems, some of which include Ivanhoe, Tragedy of Hamlet, Homer, Death of Socrates, Shakespeare, Don Quixote, Treasure Island, Milton, etc. The book is divided into 7 chapters. After each story is a "Help to Study" section. The outside cover is a light green. On the cover is a dark green line. The line goes around the cover and forms the block letter "I". Inside this design at the top is "Everyday Classics Eighth Reader". Under that is a drawing of a shieldlike object. In the center is a candle lamp. Under that it reads "Introduction to Literature". At the bottom is "Baker & Thorndike". All of this is also in dark green. The spine has a candle lamp at top & Bottom in dark green. In between these is "Everyday Classics Eight Reader" also in dark green. The inside cover page has written in pencil in the right top corner "Anna Flom". The manuals are held in the book by strings, which are strung through small holes pierced in the spines. Each manual is only about 1/8" thick. They are green, orange and blue, respectively. 41 2015-4-17 Book Safety Everyday by J. Mace Andress, I.H. Goldberger, Elizabeth B. Jenkins, and Marguerite P. Dolch. Cover is blue with a picture of a doctor holding a microscope and a child wearing a police uniform and standing next to a sign that reads, "Safety Zone." Both are raising their right hands. The first page has a piece of paper glued that says, "Shirley Ann Mueller." Her name is also written on the page, appove the attached paper. Black and white as well as colored images are throughout the book. All pages are attached. There are 251 pages including the index. 
42 2015-4-18 Book Doing your Best for Health by J. Mace Andress, I.H. Goldberger, and Grace Hallock. Cover is blue with a picture of three children. The boy in the center is reading and writing, the girl is wearing a flower dress and is playing tennis, the other boy is wearing a stripped shirt and playing baseball. The first page has a piece of paper attached with the name, " Shirley Ann Moeller" and the book title. "Shirley Ann Moeller" is also written above the attached paper. Book contains primarily black and white images. Some corners of pages are bent, but all are attached. Book is 280 pages. 
43 2016-16-26 Book Elements of General Science by Otis William Caldwell and William Lewis Eikenberry. Cover is red with a simple black border, text, and image. Interior cover has multiple notes written in several different colors (green ink, black ink, pencil). Dates written inside range from 1924 to 1925. Notes are made periodically throughout and the back cover has the following saying, "Sacred Heart of Jesus I place my trust in thee." Pages are attached to the binding, but the binding is beginning to curve. Black and white as well as color images and diagrams are present. Book is 455 pages. 
44 2016-16-30 Book Principles of Agriculture for High Schools by John H. Gehrs. Cover is green/gray with a plain border; hand-drawings acompany the simplistic picture. Notes fill the interior front and back covers; "SOPHOMORE" is penciled in towards the end of the first page. Contents include:  "Farm Crops," "Farm Animals," "Soils," "Horticulture," and "Farm Management." Binding is beginning to detach and first few pages are lifting. The top cover of the binding is tearing. Edges and corners are worn. Book is 594 pages including the index. 
45 2016-FIC-139 Book Farm Engines and How to Run Them: The Young Engineer's Guide by James H. Stephenson. Cover is red with black text and borders. There is a gold image of a tractor in the center. Edges and corners have experienced some wear and tear. Binding is coming loose and beginning to seperate from the pages at the bottom of the book. The red is bleeding into the pages and creating pink stains. Black and white images are periodically depicted. Book is 243 pages including index.

The binding is red leather with an abbreviated title and author's last name written in gold.  The top and bottom of the binding is beginning to tear and detach. "Ruth Flerk" is written in pencil on the top of the first page. Book is 384 pages including the index.
