A large ink stain is present in the top right corner. Binding is damaged and angled. Pages are attached but are vulnerable to removal. "Dorthy Conn Parkersburg, Iowa R. F. D. No 2. Box 58" is written in black ink on the first page. Black ink stains are visible on the lask pages. "HAROLD Kenneth" is written in pencil on the last page parallel to the binding crease. Book is 288 pages including index.

"4th Grade" is written in the top right corner of first page. Book is 174 pages including glossary.

Cover is brown with and elegant image of a building and girl reading. Binding is deteriorating, severely weak and pages are loosening. Pages are torn and fragile. Book does not start until page 7 and goes to 158. A pink stain is on the back cover. Notes are made on the back cover.

"Glen Earl Halling Schaller, Iowa" is written in pencil on the back interior cover. Binding is strong and pages are attached. Bottom edges and corners are worn. Book is 182 pages. 
37 2016-FIC-158 Book English Composition: Book One by Brooks. Cover is red and very faded. Edges and corners are frayed. Title is extremely faded. There are a couple of black ink stains on the front cover. Binding is weak, but the majority of the pages are still attached. Some of the first pages are missing so it is uknown who is the author, the publisher, or what year it was published. There are notes written in blue on the front interior cover. A note written above the preface says, "Copyright 1911." Notes and markings are made throughout the pages. Scribbles in green crayon are drawn in the back. Book is 294 pages including the index.

39 2016-FIC-59 Book Studies in Reading by J.W. Searson and George E. Martin. Cover is red with a black border and text. A note is on the back cover that says, "Do not steal this book for fear of life for here comes dad with the butcher knife." First page says, "Do not steal this book for fear of shame for hear you see the owners name. Mr. Fay Conn, Parkersburg, Iowa." A moisture stain has affected the edges of the pages and caused the cover to bleed pink. Book is 279 pages.

Part of the cover is missing. The first page says, "To Anna From Nora 1903." The page numbers are rewritten at the bottom of each page. Binding is weak and pages are beginning to detach.
