Green paper dust jacket is plain with "DANCING" written in red block letters. Below that in black block letters it reads "WITHOUT AN INSTRUCTOR". The spine of the dust jacket has "DANCING" in black block letters. The inside of the dust jacket has written in pencil some numbers. Designed as " a collection of choice songs, note reading exercises, and to explain the elements of music so all can understand the subject thoroughly." Contains sight reading exercises, major and minor scales, sharps, staffs and various types of songs. The cover is dark red and well worn so only half of the title is readable. At one time there appears to have been a design drawin around the title. The title is done in black. Inside the cover is written "May 6th, 1909, Ackley, Iowa" at the top in black ink. The inside cover page has written in the center in black ink "Bertha and David Benning. Faulkner Franklin Co. Iowa." The title page has written in black ink "1909 May 6th" next to the title. Consists mostly of various songs such as "America", On the Midnight clear", "Star-spangled Banner", "Swing Low, Sweet Chariot", "My Banjo", "Did You Ever See a Lassie", "Muffin Man", Oats, Peas, Beans", Farmer in the Dell", etc. Also has singing games, chromatic scales and a preliminary course of Study for One-room Rural Schools. The book cover is green and black squares going around it in the top center. Cover reads "A One Book Course in Elementary Music and Selected songs for Schools". "Charles A. Fullerton" is written below that and a black lyre is under the author's name. At the bottom of the cover in black "Fullerton and Gray, Cedar Falls, Iowa." This is the 4th edition printed in 1933
