1 1986.4.333 Book 1920-1921 teacher class record book for 8th grade from the Dows school, Wright County, Iowa. The teacher was Aletha Jacobs. Titled " Metropolitan Class Record," published by the Metropolitan Supply Company, Anamosa, Iowa. Hardback, green cover, bound with three staples. Inside: a. Teachers Term Report to Secretary (blank). b. Teacher Measurements, 5-page evaluation of teacher. c. Teachers Report (blank) list of "File in Office" on reverse. d. Grade graph on tablet paper. Note section in back of book appears to have been used for grades, as well as the inside of the back cover. Aletha Hutchison Jacobs, born in Buchannan County, Iowa, was a teacher for rural schools in Benton County (1900-1902), Buchanan County (1902-1907), Black Hawk County (1912-1916), Grundy County (1916-1920), Wright County (1920-1921), and Webster County (1922). In 1922 she moved to Pennsylvania with her husband, Elmer. There she taught at Hummelstown High School in Dauphin County (1922-1924) and Reamstown School in East Cocalico Township, Lancaster County (1926-1960).

12 RSC-Ohio-151 Certificate Teacher's Common School Certificate from Fairfield County, Ohio.  It was given to John C, Phelps at Lancaster, OH, on April 18th, 1896. The bottom of the paper lists his exam results and has the signatures of the president and two clerks of the board of school examiners. It has a blue decorative border. All text is in either blue or red. Printed by Ohio Eagle Job Print, Lancaster, O.  From top to bottom it reads, "No. 52. 5th Class, 12 Months. Teacher's COmon School Certificate. Fairfield County, Ohio. The Undersigned school Examiners of Fairfield County, Ohio, having examined John C. Phelps Hereby Certify that he possesses an adequate knowledge of the Theory and Practice of Teaching, and is qualified to teach Orthography, Rading, writing, Arithmetic, Geography, English Grammar, United States History, Physiology and Hygiene, Stimulants and Narcotics, and Civil Gov. and that he has furnished satisfactory evidence of Good Moral Character. This Certificate to be valid for 12 months from date. Given at Lancaster, Ohio, and dated this 18th day of April A. D. 1896. Signed by G. M. Morris, president, WM Dunn, clerk, and S. J. Wolfe."

22 RSC-Ohio-190 Card 1951-1952 Progress Report card for Stefen Chapman, grade 4B, from of the Medary Ave school in Columbus, Ohio. The teacher was Mary Bayes, principal was Helen C. Kennedy, and superintendent was N. G. Fawcett. It is yellow, has a thin black border, and is folded in half to form a little booklet. 
23 RSC-Ohio-191 Program Program for "Patches of 1928," an event put on by the Girl's Physical Education Department of Greenville High School, Ohio. It lists each act, each student involved and their role, the musicians, and several other contributors. All text was printed in green ink. 
24 RSC-Ohio-194 Postcard Blank postcard. The front has a black and white photo of the Parker's Academy near New Richmond, Ohio. This was the school General Ulysses S. Grant attended. The photo shows a brick schoolhouse (possibly painted white?) with a bell tower in the center and four open windows on either side of the doorway. The trees are bare and the ground has a little snow. The back has no message, but does have a stamp of  "Kraemer Art, Cincinatti" in the upper right-hand corner.

29 RSC-Ohio-207 Souvenir 1909 souvenir booklet from the Highland School District No. 1, Ripley Township, Holmes County, Ohio. The cover has an oval, cut-out photo of a woman as well as colorful illustrations including the American flag and a globe. The bottom reads, "Not for School but for Life we Learn." The second pages lists the students, the teacher, Grace Appleman, and the schoolboard including the president, Thomas McMillen. The rest of the pages have a poem titled "Teacher's Greetings" and several illustrations. The booklet is bound with string ending in a tassel. 5 pages. Printed by Seibert Printing Co., Canal Dover, Ohio. 
30 RSC-Ohio-208 Souvenir 1913-1914 souvenir booklet from the Bakersville School district No. 5, Bakersville, Coshocton County, Ohio. The teacher was Jessie Mae Mizer and the president was Jacob Huprich. The covers are marbled with brown, red, and blue. The front cover says "School Day Remembrance" in gold, embossed lettering. Pages four and five list the school, staff, and student information including a roster. All other pages have a red, blue, or brown floral illustration and a poem. The booklet is tied together by a pink string. Eight pages in total. Printed by F. A. Owen Pub. Co., Dansville. N. Y.

The buildings were colored in with red and the sky has a blue gradient. The back has no post markings but reads, "This is a picture of the school I attended. They are adding an addition to it."
