3 2002.7.30B Certificate "Teacher's First Grade Certificate" for Fred Cover of Butler County, Iowa. Signed by the county superintendent, Ida F. Leydig, on September 25, 1913. The certificate is valid until August 1905. The back has handwritten notes on exam grades and a few classes taken from Iowa State College, Iowa State Normal School, and Upper Iowa University for years 1906-1917. 2002.7.30B (Certificate) image
4 2002.7.48 Certificate "Preliminary State Certificate" for Fred W. Cover. Intended to replace an official certificate while it was being prepared. Good for 5 years. Signed by the president of the Board of Examiners John F. Riggs, in Des Moines, on January 2, 1907. An additional signature from Chas. H. Young indicated that this certificate was made valid for Mahaska County as well until July 1, 1908. Three more notes typed in colored ink on the back, each signed by J. W.
