1 1995.37.0001 Bow Strung. Bow has lunate shape since it is strong. Outside face of bow is 75% soot covered from one tip past the median & partially toward the other tip, which is raw light colored wood. Bowstring is 1/4' wide resilient fiber (inner bark?). Knotted at both ends. A finer fiber on the bow tips beneath the bow string knots. The entire inside face of the bow is smoother & less rough than the outside face. Color: TN,BR
2 1995.37.0002 Bow Strung. Outside face decorated with series of 12 white bars painted perpendicular to the long axis of the bow starting at one tip (the superior/upward end?). Each white bar is between 1/4" to 1/2' wide. Below these, an irregular black tarlike compound covers the outside face of the bow to approximately its median. The white bars extend further down the bow beneath the black compound. A light colored fibrous material has intemittently adhered to the black compound. Bow string is 1/4" wide resilient fiber knotted at both ends. 1-2" at the median shows wear. From each top of the bow a finer reed-like binding wraps the bow. This binding is approximately 2' wide. The outside face of inferior/downward end of the bow is undecorated & rough. The entire inside face of the bow is smooth & polished. Color: BR,TN,BK,WH
3 1995.37.0003 Arrow Four pronged-head made of wood, carved with serrated edges, lashed together & inserted into hollow ends of bamboo shaft.. Staff of arrow is made of bamboo and measures 51" in length. End of shaft is lashed with 1/8" wide fiber ( now loose). a finer fiber is also lashed to shaft below this. Color: BR,TN
4 1995.37.0004 Arrow Barbed point carved from wood, 16" long, iunserted into hollow bamboo shaft. Bamboo shaft lashed together with slender fiber to hold point secure. Color: TN,BR
5 1995.37.0005 Arrow Brroad point made of light colored wood lashed to outside of bamboo shaft with thin fiber cordage. Below this another 16", wide fiber is lashed to the shaft. Color: TN
6 1995.37.0006 Arrow Point made from bamboo sliced from length of shaft to form a trough with a sharp tip. Point has short shaft wooden piece attached at base inside of trough. These are lashed together and inserted into hollow bamboo shaft which is lashed with 1/1/6' thick fiber to secure point in place. Color: TN,BR
7 1995.37.0007 Arrow Shaft made of bamboo and measures 37" in length. Point is barbed along one side. Point is attached at the trough of the baboo shaft. Point and shaft are secured by 1/16" thick fiber to keep them in place. Color: TN,BR
8 1995.37.0008 Arrow Shaft made of bamboo and measures 34 1/4" long. Sliced along length of shaft to form a trough. Point of arrow is 13" and is barbed on one side. Point of arrow and shaft are connected at the trough inside of shaft to secure point. 1/16" fibers used to bind arrow together. Color: TN,BR
9 1995.37.0009 Arrow Shaft made of bamboo and measures 40" long. Sliced along length of shaft to form a trough. Point of arrow is 7 1/2' long. Plant binding below the arrow head is gold in color in some areas. Point of arrow and shaft are connected at the trough inside of shaft. 1/16" fibers are used to bind arrow together. Point is sliced from length of shaft to form a trough and sharp tip. Color: TN,GD,BR
10 1995.37.0010 Arrow Shaft made of bamboo and measures 37" long. Head of arrow is eight inches in length. Sliced along the length of shaft to form a hollow trough. Point of arrow and shaft are connected at the trough inside of shaft. 1/16" fibers are used to bind arrow together. Point of arrow is grooved out and is very dark where point and shaft are attached. One side of point is dark and the other is light. Color: TN,BR
11 2009.6.0007 Spear Wood (bamboo?) spear. The spearhead is four pronged. Each prong is curved in the center. The head is attatched from the handle with woven grass and dried black puddy. There are bumps all the way down the handle. The four prongs are the same length. Sketch on catalog sheet. Color: TN
12 2009.6.0008 Spear Wooden (bamboo?) spear. Spearhead consists of five prongs very close together. The top of each prong is slightly curved. The spearhead is attatched to the handle with woven grass. There are bumps all the way down the handle. Under the woven grass is faded black markings. White gauze (?) at the bottom of the spearhead. 13 2009.6.0010 Spear Tan handle with brown spearhead. Spearhead has black marks on it and is formed in sections much like a Christmas tree. At the end of the spearhead and top of the handle is black puddy and some grass to keep the pieces together. There are bumps all along the handle. Sketch on catalog sheet. Color: TN, BN
14 2009.6.0011 Spear Wooden spear with tan handle and black head. Black puddy between the end of the spearhead and the top of the handle. There are black markings underneath the head. 15 2010.4.0022 Spear short spear, fashioned with long piece of shaped metal with long wooden handle, dyed and carved with wide "V" patterns similar to a wave look, one end of spear has sharpened wide triangular point as well as a piece of shaped metal that looks similar to gear in a watch or clock-circular with divets, at the other end is another piece of shaped metal, a wide traingular flat piece that resembles a paint scrapper Color: Various
