15 2004.1.1 Certificate, Teaching Faded in three parts. On the inside it says, "State of Iowa State Teachers Certificate Second Grade." Goes on to state that on Aug. 20, 1921, Mabel L. Meyer graduated from Iowa State Teachers College with the primary education diploma. Signed by the President, Board of Educational examiners. T. E. Mc Clanahan. Back has 3 stamped areas with "Harry McVickers" stamped on it. Also reads "This certificate is registered and valid for", but is not filled in. 16 2004.1.2 Contract "State of Iowa Teacher's Contract" for Mabel Meyer of the Webster Consolidated School District, English Township, Keokuk County, Iowa. She was paid $125 per school month for a nine-month term beginning Sept. 4, 1922. Signed by the president of the school's board of directors, U. S. Morgan, and the teacher, Mabel L. Leyer, in April 1922. On back has teacher's minimum salary scale.

Preprinted and laminated card with handwritten entries. Signed by County Superintendent, Cap E. Miller. Includes exam scores. Color: WH, RD Statement "Pupils who receive an average of 75 percent with no grade below 60 percent, will be considered successful and will be given a county diploma on the evening of Wednesday, August 21, 1907, at the Chautauqua Institute. Dr. Winship, of Boston, Mass., will present the diplomas. It will be a great program - one that you will remember all your life. Don't fail to be present. This card will admit you free at the Chautauqua Gate all day. I congratulate you on your success in the examination."

30 RSC-KO-3 Certificate, Spelling Red booklet marked "Certificate of Award" on the front in gold, embossed letters. Inside is a paper that says "Keokuk County" across the top. "This Certifies That Mary Ellen Shanafelt, A Pupil of No. 4, Plank Township, Keokuk County Public Schools, is awarded this Certificate for Excellence in Spelling, having achieved One Hundred Perfect Spelling Lessons, as shown by the attainment of Five Perfect Spelling Certificates. Given at Sigourney, Iowa, this 7th day of Oct. 1931." Signed by the County Superintendent of Schools, Harry S. McVicker, and the teacher, Mildred Croon. The certificate is stamped on the lower left corner with the County Superintendent of Schools's official green seal. The paper is decorated on the top left with a red cardinal on a green branch.
