40 2024-1-10 Map Map of the city of Munich, Germany. Entitled "Town Plan MUNICH" with the scale given. It has tourist locations labeled from numbers 1 to 46. These sites include places like a zoo, a garden, and multiple theatres. The map has a route marked on it in pink ink along a main thoroughfare with the text "Co. C. Area" at one end of the route. The text "C. Co Area" is repeated right next to it in pencil. The text "508 M.P. BM" is at the top of the map. This likely refers to the 508th Military Police Battalion, a division of the U.S. Army, that included Companies A, B, and C, which arrived in Munich, Germany on June 27th, 1945. The back has the key for the map, telling what the numbered locations are. Numbers 36-38 (Kamera Theatre, Regina Theatre, & Central Theatre) have "G.I." written in cursive in pencil next to them. Number 27 ("Hofbrau Keller (EM Red Cross)") says "His study" in pink cursive with an arrow pointing to the text. Number 32 ("Burgerbrau Keller (EM Red Cross)") has the text "Hitler's Been Sa_dle_" in pink cursive text. Three of the letters in the last word are indecipherable. Text written by Number 11 ("Ludwigstrasse") says "where Hitler held parades" again written in cursive with a pencil. Paper is thin from being folded but the map is still readable. A few small stains are visible on the map. 2024-1-10 (Map) image
41 2024-1-11 Ledger Sign-up sheet for the "Blue Jackets" at the Bremerhaven Navy Base, representing the U.S. Navy in Europe's post-World War II sports championships. Bremerhaven, Germany was the location of a U.S. military base during the Cold War that was removed by 1993. The front side of the sheet has spaces for the participants' number in order on the list, name, height, weight, home town, and experience. No information has been filled in. The back is entitled "This was Deutsches Museum before the war" and has pictures and descriptions of Jubilee Hall, a mural mosaic by Jubilee Hall, and an aircraft display section. The two sides appear to be unrelated to each other because they appear to have been a page torn from some booklet because the sign-up sheet side has a page number 13 in the lower right hand corner. 2024-1-11 (Ledger) image
