Jacket, tunic style cut; dark blue wool with black braid around the collar, down the front, and around the bottom edge. Button front closing is concealed by the braid. Shoulder boards, silver wire trimmed edge, double silver oak leaf design (major's insignia), light blue felt background; brass collar insignia on both collars, crossed rifles (infantry), "53" (53rd Infantry Regiment), "IA" (Iowa National Guard); black plastic front buttons & black metal hooks; b. Trousers, U. S. Army & National Guard officer's issue, Spanish-American War (1898) era; blue wool material; 1 3/4' wide white stripe on outer sides of pants legs (denotes officer standing); metal buttons on front closure; suspender buttons at waist; trousers tuck into marching boots; c. & d. Boots, U. S. Army & National Guard officer's issue; Spanish American War ( 1898) era; mid-calf height marching boots; blue canvas tops, white canvas edging, multi-colored boot pulls; brown leather uppers; leather soles & heels. c. Army officer's issue, possibly dating from the Spanish-American War, 1898; straight legs, heavy navy blue wool material; button front closure; 1/2" wide white stripe on outer side of each pant leg; slash side pockets, on rear pocket; attached adjustment belt & buckle in rear waist; metal suspender buttons at waist. 4 1972.62.1 Coat U. S. Air Force Academy dress issue uniform. Blue wool material with a darker blue band around the bottom of each sleeve. Single breasted. There is a white star on a black circular background on the left sleeve near the bottom. The coat has 4 button down pockets and 4 silver U. S. Air Force buttons down the front of it. Shoulder loops for attaching of shoulder boards; no insignia; navy blue satin lining; interior right pocket label, "Globe Tailoring Co.," Cincinnati"; inside interior right pocket, label, "M. J. 6 1975.43.1 Jacket Uniform jacket and badge, U. S. Army dress, Vietnam period. a. Jacket, dark green wool with silver metal army buttons at front and on all flap pockets. Jacket has two chest pockets and two large flap waist pockets. Both sleeves have sergeant stripes. The left sleeve also has the large yellow, red and blue triangular armor patch. The left lapel sports the silver metal "U.S." insignia, while the right lapel has the silver metal armor cavalry pin. Each shoulder strap has an oval silver badge with green designs, flaming torch and the words "This we'll defend." Above the right breast pocket is a black plastic name tag with the name "Koster." b.
