393 1993.24.243 Box Constructed from match box with 9 smaller boxes within forming drawers. Each smaller box slip-covered with pink fabric stitched to fit the perimeter. Front of four drawers have a button sewed on the front. One has a hook and eye, and one just an eye, with holes in the fabric to indicate where a hook was once. Exterior of larger box is also covered. The center is covered with net fabric covered with a pattern of pink cross-stitches. Beside this panel are gathered strips of pink fabric ribbon. Mother of pearl handle is cylindrical in shape and comes to a tapered point. Handle has a section made of copper with a twisted rope like design. A golden nib attached also has "Mabie Todd & Co. New York" stamped on the base.
