6 2017-16-82 Poster A notice for “Public Auction of Schoolhouse and Other School Property,” typed, with C.T. Mitchell signing as secretary. The poster has holes spaced around the edges where it was fastened to a surface. The text of the notice is as follows:   “NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN By the Board of Directors of the Independent School District No. Six of Geneseo  Township, Tama County, Iowa, that in pursuance of the direction of the voters of the said school district expressed in the annual meeting of said school district held on March 13, 1916, the said Board of Directors have ordered the old school house and other property belonging to the said corporation and situated at the southwest corner of Section Eight (8) in Geneseo Township, Tama County, Iowa, to be sold at public auction at two o’clock P. M. on the 30th day of March, 1916, to the highest bidders for cash, said sale to be held at the front door of said old schoolhouse building to be sold, and you are hereby notified that the said sale will be held as ordered. 8 2017-16-84 Letter A draft “Notice of Special Meeting” that is typewritten with blanks to fill with date and time. The notice is for a special meeting of Geneseo Independent School District No. 6 school board and electors to be held on March 31, 1913 for a period of two hours.
