A metal drinking cup (gilas). The note left with the object reads: "Metal drinking tumbler (GILAS - a pronunciation in Hindi of 'glass'); The tumbler is used for water, tea, or buttermilk. Tea is always mixed with boiled milk and sugar. Adults rarely drink milk since they prefer to make it into curds (yogurt) or buttermilk, cheese, or sweet desserts and ghee. Some of the families in this village now have crockery tea cups and glass glasses, but the metal tumbler is far more common."
