This oral history interview of Richard ("Dick") L. Hansen was conducted on March 26, 2010 by Jean Richardson under the aegis of the University of Northern Iowa Museums. Richard ("Dick") L. Hansen was highly involved in Iowa's rural school system. He served as: a teacher and High School Principal in Rhodes, Iowa prior to 1957; High School Principal of Cal Community School prior to 1957; Superintendent at Bristow, Iowa prior to 1957; the Chickasaw County, Special Education Director in 1957; the Chickasaw and Fayette Counties, Special Education Director from 1958-1964; and County Superintendent of Chickasaw and Fayette Counties from 1964-1975.
