The Conservation and Exhibition of the Hampton Mastodon Tusk

Wednesday, April 3, 2019 to Friday, April 3, 2020

Discovered in a Hampton, Iowa gravel pit in 1933. The mastodon tusk has been a key part of the Museum for over 80 years. Thanks to the Roy J. Carver Charitable Trust, the UNI Musuem has been able to expand our knowledge of the tusk, provide key conservation on the specimen, and provide unique learning opportunities for UNI students. Please join us on April 3rd as we put it on exhibit for everyone to enjoy.
