One pint glass Mason jar with metal screw on lid. Glass has a slight blue tint, "Masons Patent Nov 30th 1858" is embossed on one side along with the logo for the Consolidated Fruit Jar Company, which is the letters "CFJC" overlapping in a way that somewhat resembles a "cent" symbol (¢). "D4.35." is embossed on the bottom of the jar. The lid is made of zinc with a white porcelain insert on the inside, in the center of the insert there is an embossed logo resembling an Iron cross with the letters "H, F, J, Co" spread across the four flared arms of the cross, "The Hero Fruit Jar Company Phila. PA." encircles the outside edge of the insert. This object is made up of two parts, the base (9a) and the lid (9b).
