Confirmation card. In German, the cover reads "Herzlichen Segenwunsch sur Confirmation". It is decorated with the text in silver, embossed pink flowers and green vines, with cut outs among the vines and a similarly cutout, scalloped border. Inside contains a greeting and a poem, all in German. It is signed in ink with a greeting and the name "E. Bertram." It is inside an envelope addressed to Harry Barck. Embossed in very small letters under flap of the envelope is, "Wangler Bros., Waterloo, IA."
Harry Barck was the secretary for the District Board of Education for Eddy #6 school, Cedar Falls Township, Black Hawk County, Iowa. He married Pauline Heckel, a teacher for rural schools in Bremer County and an Iowa State Normal School alumna. They had two children, Philip and Frances, who donated this item as part of the Harry Barck collection.
