Paper money, denomination of 500 pesos (quinientos pesos oro), serial #A339930A. On one side is a picture of Cristobal Colon with 3 ships in the background and a royal seal below the lead ship. The bank seal is to the right of Columbus. Other cartographic symbols are map projection, compass rose, and globe. On the other side is a copy of Columbus' first map of "Ispanola'. There is a picture of two Spanish men and one Indian woman raising a cross. The Fero a Colon is just off center, with a cross radiating into the sky from it. To the left of the lighthouse there is the seal of the Dominican Republic. The watermark is to the left of the ships and to the right of Columbus' first map.
