The staff has 12 leaf-like carvings - 8 painted brown and 4 red and blue. There is a red painted band, and atop this a carved bird. The bird is painted yellow, red and blue. The area below the leaf carvings is squared. Below the squared area the staff is rounded and colored darker brown.
