This object is red ink used for Chinese calligraphy.  Chinese calligraphy is the art form of writing Chinese characters.  The art form combines visual art and interpretation of the literary meaning.  The calligraphy was and still is widely practiced in China by millions of Chinese people.  Red ink is commonly used by teachers who are correcting students' word.  Red is also commonly paired with a seal stone.  A seal stone is used to stamp a Chinese name onto documents.  Red ink is used during this process.  The red ink of this object is contained in a small white and blue dish.  A design of a dragon can be found on the lid of the pot with Chinese writing on the bottom of the dish.
