In 1942, Grogan Photo Company (located in Danville, Illinois) came out with a series of postcards that were taken in the Fort Sheridan Military base. Each postcard shows a portion of the base, and then labels the photograph with the description of what was taking place. In this case, the original postcard showed a group of men standing next to a searchlight. This correlates with the written words on the postcard as it states, "800 Million Candle Power Searchlight Fort Sheridan, Illinois."
