Small white ceramic mug. Front side has a purple logo. "UNIVERSITY OF NORTHERN IOWA" and "Cedar Falls" is in the outside. Inside a purple ring is a gold shield with the word "LUX" angled across it like a sash. The year "1876" is at the bottom of the shield. On top of the shield is a lit lamp. On either side are laurel leaves. The mug angles inward toward the top. Where the handle attaches to the cup, there is a ceramic band around the mug. The bands are the same white color as the rest of the mug, they just add more detail to it. The bottom has no markings.
