1 2021-19-2 Mask This mask is from the Basongye people of Democratic Republic of Congo. It is round and carved out of wood. It has a long vertical line that forms on the top of the head and ends as the nose. Two nostril holes are carved into the nose. The eyes are bulbous cylindrical shapes that open underneath for viewing purposes. The mouth is carved unto the wood and is a rectangle with four triangle teeth, and a small tongue. Five colored wood pieces form at the chin. The mask is black and red and comproised of four large circles surrounding each other. The last circle layer of the mask has holes drilled into it at each inch.  2021-19-2 (Mask) image
