17	1993.37.33	Skullcap	Man's. Beginning at the edge are a series of lines of white thread, each with a different design: vertical lines, a horizontal line and a zig-zag line. Next is a blue line, then a white line, then a zig-zag design of circles followed by another horizontal white line, then a green line, a white zig-zag stitch, an orange horizontal line and a series of rectangles arranged horizontally. Each rectangle is bordered with white thread and the colors of the rectangles change every two rectangles; yellow, blue, burgundy, green, gold, purple. Followed by a purple horizontal line, a white zig-zag line, a yellow horizontal line and a white horizontal line. Here the side ends and the top of the hat begins. The top begins with a white horizontal line, then a white zig-zag, a burgundy horizontal line, white horizontal line, then the same zig-zag design of circles then another white horizontal line above a horizontal line, a white zig-zag line, a yellow horizontal line, a white horizontal line, 3 green lines that form a tighter circle, 3 orange lines, 3 purple lines and a yellow dot made of stitches is at the center of the hat. The hat is not lined. "Ramsar, India" is printed in black permanent ink onto a green iron-on fabric patch and isattached to the inside of the side of the hat. Color: ML
18	1993.37.34	Skullcap	Hat, man's velour; No brim. Black thread around side edges of the hat then gold thread then royal blue velour surrounds the side. On the front one-third of the hat is gold rickrack in the shape of a rectangle. Sequins dot the rickrack. Inside is another rectangle with red, blue gold border designs. Within the rectangle is a zig-zag with the same red, blue and gold border. Within each triangle that is formed with the zig-zag border design are sequins, six in each triangle. Each triangle has different colored sequins in a gold, red, green sequential pattern 3 times. A green moon sign is in the 6th triangle from the right. The top of the hat is bordered at the edge with orange rickrack and the top is covered in a silky-corduroy-like fabric. The fabric is decorated with red roses, yellow daisies and some kind of pink flowers. Leaves are also depicted. The hat is very stiff. It is lined with navy blue cotton-like material with designs of moons around the side and flowers in the bottom. Some of the bottom lining is pulling away, exposing black and white flower designed fabric. "Azerbaijan, Iran" is written in black permanent marker on gree iron-on fabric and is attached to the hat. Grants' cataloguing number "16086" is written in black ink on white paper and is taped opposite the Azerbaijan label. Color: ML
19	1993.37.35	Hat	Stiff purple hat with no rim. Gold thread decorates the outside. At the edge is a series of inverted peaks around the hat, then step pyramids that are alternately inverted, then a horizontal line, then a series of abstract flower designs using triangles to depict them, then the inverted peaks again. The top is bordered with a braid design, then the peaks, then the abstract flower designs, the peaks and a less abstract flower in the center. The inside top is lined with red,white & blue fabric. The sides are lined with pink, green, and blue floral designed fabric. Blue plastic tape borders the inside edge. "Zabal, Iran" is written in black permanent ink on green iron-on material, attached to the tape. Color: ML

23	1998.22.2	Hat, Toque	Dome-shaped. Top half is brown leather with gold stitching to create circles, lines, criss-cross, and tear-drop shapes. There is red stitching sewn to create an image of 3 leaves together with tips touching; there are 4 groups of 3 leaves on each half; 8 groups total. The bottom of the hat is green felt. Inside the hat is a strip of purple/blue cloth; above it is a piece of white cloth with green circles and squares, gathered in the center and held with a button. Color: BR,ML
24	2000.15.5	Cap	Knit cap with stylized designs. At top center seven gray strips ~.5" wide radiate symetricaly and extend to the bottom edge which is completely fringed in gray. Near the junction of the anterior and lateral portions of the cap the gray strip widens and inside this area is a white stylized "temple". On the lateral portion, between each gray area is a white area that contains a gray stylized "tree" made up of stacked triangles. The trees terminate at the anterior-lateral junction giving way to a field of white. There are seven "trees" and seven "temples" total. Small hole at center top. Color: WH,GY
