The back of the slide has a description of spying and how precarious the existence of spies was. The trench they are standing in is more than 10 feet deep. The man on the left is also holding a cane and both men have mustaches. Photos are nearly identical with rows of wagons and other modes of transportation lined up with one column in front of another. The wagons in the foreground are all covered and have wooden wheels. There is one soldier in the picture standing guard. The description on the back shows that these materials were acquired from the Russians by German forces during a retreat and represent the spoils and destruction of the war.
