The thick, green borders have purple flowers and illustrations of school items like globes and books. Each corner has spot for a seal, but only the top two corners have a raised, golden seal from the Illinois Pupils Reading Circle. From top to bottom it reads: "Illinois Pupils' Reading Circle. This Certifies that Minnie Jane Jenkins has completed the Course of Reading prescribed by the Board of Director of the Illinois Pupils' Reading Circle and in testimony thereof this Diploma is awarded. Given under our hands at Springfield, Illinois, this 22nd day of May, A. D. 1930." Signed by the leader, Leonora Gibbons, and the county manager, S. B. Vance. |
