The front side has a depiction of the UNI campus including the campanile, UNI-dome, McLeod Center, Schindler Education Center, and the Alumni Plaza, plus other buildings and some trees. This depiction takes up the top half of the button. The bottom half is a purple background with "PANTHER COUNTRY" in white text, "2023 HOMECOMING" in yellow below that, and the UNI logo below that. The back side is plain silver in color with a silver colored pin. Typical button clasp with a single pin that rotates to close. A small dark adhesive-like smudge is in the center of the back.

Pin has a silver back which curves in slightly, there are two rectangular holes which a safety pin has been put through. The front of the pin is primarily purple with white lettering reading "That '70s Hoco" in a large, stylized font near the center of the circle, and "UNI/University of Northern Iowa" in a smaller, more standard font near the bottom. "That '70s Hoco" is ringed with four different colored outlines, from the closest to the text outwards: dark purple, yellow, light purple, and blue, there are also 6 flowers of varying shapes and sizes filling some of the empty space, they are purple, yellow, blue, and green. The safety pin on the back of the badge is not lined up with the front.
