67 2021-1-43 Poster "Artifical Respiration Reminders" 1: Lay patient face down, one arm extended, other bent at elbow. Turn face outward resting on hand or wrist of bent arm. 2: Kneel, straddling patient's thighs. (Fig. 1.) 3: Place the palms of your hands on the small of his back, little fingers just touching the lowest ribs. 4: With arms straight swing forward gradually bringing the weight of your body to bear upon patient. (Fig. 2). Take about two seconds for this operation. 5: Immediately swing backward to remove pressure. (Fig. 3). 6: After two seconds, swing forward again. Repeat this operation twelve to fifteen times a minute. 7:  While applying artifical respiration, have someone else loosen tight clothing. Keep patient warm and lying down. Do not give anything to drink until he is conscious. 8: If patient stops breathing, repeat artifical repspiration. It may be necessary to continue four hours or more. The foregoing is an adaption of the standard instructions. Illustrations of procedures in front of a yellow background.
