14 2024-2-8A Jumper Navy uniform dress blues from World War II. Each number is a different part of this uniform. A) Jumper. Navy blue with three strands of white piping at the cuffs and neckline. Square sailor's collar with white piping around it and a white star in either corner of the jumper flap. Two buttons on either cuff which are decorated with the indentation of an anchor on them. Inside the jumper is a buttoned pocket on the right side with the same button as on the cuffs. This hidden pocket is not visible from the outside. On the outside, also on the right side, is a gold patch showing an eagle inside a circle. This symbol was used on World War II Navy jumpers. On the left side in line with the patch is a pocket. Horizontally across the chest and back is a seam. This jumper does not have the side zipper found in later versions of this uniform. Inside on the front panel is the wearer's name, "Jordan J.W.", printed on it in white for identification purposes. Creased from being folded and faint stain on the white piping of the right cuff. Label indicates being manufactured by the Naval Clothing Factory. 2024-2-8A (Jumper) image
15 2024-2-8B Trousers Navy uniform dress blues from World War II. Each number is a different part of this uniform. B) Navy blue colored trousers. Two patches are near the top, having been fixed with royal blue thread. Name identification tag on the inside of the right front pocket has "DAD'S" written on it in black marker. Both the right and left sides have front pockets, the right side being open and the left side having a zipper. These trousers have a lace-up back waistband for more expansion or constriction of the waist as needed. The black laces are frayed at the ends. The front side has buttons in three lines instead of a front zipper. The right side of buttons has four buttonholes but is missing the second one from the bottom. The left side has all four buttons and buttonholes. The top row has five buttons, the middle of which has another button above it that is in line with the actual waistband. The bottom button of these two is broken in half and is loose but still attached. All these buttons are black and decorated with the indentation of an anchor on them. The inside of the right pant leg has some indecipherable marking which has faded over time, possibly the wearer's name. The left pant leg has the wearer's name, "Jordan, J.W.", on it in white. Below it is indecipherable faded markings, perhaps saying "PRICE-RD-780". There are 7 1/2 cm hems on both pant legs sewn up with the same color of royal blue thread as the patches. Label indicates being manufactured by the Naval Clothing Factory. 2024-2-8B (Trousers) image
