6	1997.15.2.1	Hat	Woman's. Bandeau. a. Net lined form is covered with red fabric and edged with red velvet. Entire surface overlaid with velvet leaves variegated from red to pink. Interspersed among leaves are brown velvet stems with red velvet "berries" and slim ribbed leaves. Some stamens represented, tipped with pink beads. A fuchsia velvet ribbon knot with short streamers is at right center front. Fuchsia netting covers the hat but does not extend down to form a veil. b. Octagonal hatbox with attached lid. Top reads "Raye's The Shop of Fashion Waterloo, IA."

Concentric circles of lace with pointed edge on crown, and 2 rows of laced medallions on sides. Top knot formed of coil of laced used on crown. Fine brown veil encircles the hat. b. Square black hatbox. c. Pink lid. Says "Rayes Exclusive Millinery 304 E. 4th Waterloo, IA." Color: CR

11	UNIM1986.14.1979.4.74	Hat	Woman's sailor hat. Black grosgrain ribbon, 2 cm wide around base of 3/5 cm deep crown. Black & white loosely woven trim is pleated around crown and onto brim. Elastic cord to anchor hat; one end is loose. 6 cm brim turns down slightly at outer edges all around; black velvet binding, black veil and 2 straw tails made from one strip 14.5 x 9 cm, bound with narrow grosgrain.
