3 1993.24.17 Book Receipt book, 1946 -1956. Used by Independent School District Eddy #6, Cedar Falls, Iowa, Black Hawk County as a record of school secretary's receipts. Each page contains two receipts on pink paper. Between each two on a page is a perforated edge where the checks have been torn out. Softback, orange covers, and dark red fabric spine.
4 1993.24.237 Booklet Compilation of newspapers titled "Current Events" (a national school newspaper produced by the American Education Press) covering the period Sept. 12-16, 1938 to May 15-19, 1939. Features several articles covering American and world news, including details about World War II, intended for children. Compiled by Philip Barck from Eddy #6, Cedar Falls, Black Hawk County, Iowa. Each four-page issue gives news, photos, illustrations, and current events quizzes. Also includes a section "The Scoreboard", described as "A Self-Directed Study Program for Use at Home or School." Side is bound with two paper fasteners and a paper cover with a crayon illustration of a radio microphone emanating air waves and the handwritten name "Philip Barck." Inside back cover has color illustrations of flags and a repeat of the name, "Philip Barck." Color: TN

Features an index, class roll, several calendars, a weather report, seed samples (pages 15-17), invitations, programs, booklets, and compositions with colored pictures throughout. 116 pgs. Includes two extra papers inside the back cover: One shows "original tree cover, Indian trails shown on plat, Indian trails not shown on plats, early settler market trails, and pioneer homes" from New Hampton, IA to La Porte, IA. The other is titled "YWCA Tour of Historical Sights in Black Hawk County. Guide -- Clarence Baldwin" and has a map of the tour on the back.

Contains several articles written by students covering fire prevention, the new playground equipment, what each grade was doing, sports played at the school, and social notes.

Contains student-written articles on Valentines Day, a barn fire, info on each grade's coursework, social news, a section of item for sale, and a list of the newspaper's staff.

Includes a list of visitors, info on eighth grade commencement, a list of items for sale, updates on each grade's coursework, articles on Easter, students with perfect attendance, and a list of the newspaper staff. The cover features a hand-drawn image of birds at a birdbath. 
18 2021-FIC-84 Newspaper Student newspaper titled "The Club Reporter," from Bennington #4, Black Hawk County. Dated October 1949. The teacher was Miss Frank. Includes articles about the county nurse visiting, fire prevention, a Halloween party, Columbus Day, and a list of newspaper staff. The cover shows haystacks and a pumpkin. "Jo Ann" is written on the top corner of the cover; this was Joann Schmidt Kramer's copy.
