German police shaki ( helmet). Black hard leather. Metal crest on center front reads, "Mit gott far konig und vater land 1860", and in Latin "Suum Cuique". Air circulation holes on either side above temples. Metal posts extend outward above ears (presumably once holding a chin strap). Above metal crest is small notch for plume insert. Interior has brown scalloped leather section bound with string attached to circumference of helmet.
