This is a mask from Guatemala. It is large and contains two parts. The first part of the mask is the devil face. The mask shows a devil character painted in red and black. The devil has two blue eyes lined with red paint and black eye lashes. The nose of the devil is large and carved out nostrils are present, painted red. There is a small thin black mustache. The mouth of the devil is very large and open. It is showing all of its teeth, painted white, and the lips are painted red. There is a tongue in the center of the mouth painted red with a black line on it. The devil has a black beard and hair, carved out of the wood and painted black. The second part of the mask is a gray deer on top of the head of the devil. The deer has two blue eyes lined with red paint. Its snout is adorned with some black lines and the mouth of the deer is barely open but red paint can be seen in the mouth and in the nostrils. The deer has two antlers that are thick and painted white, carved from the same wood. The deer and devil both have carved ears with black lines in them.
