Black and white photograph of two people, a man and a woman, in front of bombed out church. There is a large pile of fubble on the right of the image. "Mrs. Vincent Asher- in a ruined church- Aisne district." written in pencil on the back. Writing is illegible enough that the name Asher had to be assumed. "PLEASE CREDIT FRENCH-OFFICIAL FROM PICTORIAL PRESS 220 WEST 42ND ST., N.Y." and "FRENCH PICTORIAL SERVICE 220 WEST 42ND STREET, N.Y." stamped in blue ink on back of print. Illegible text that looks like a series of letters and numbers and a symbol, possibly "D4642" written in pencil on back of print. World War I. Color: BK,WH
