Contract and envelope. a. Contract verifies that Marian Wood is legally qualified teacher in Black Hawk county, state of Iowa, and by the President of the Board of Directors, G.M. Parker, of the Raymond School District Poyner No. 7. Document states her monthly salary of $50 a month for nine months if she abides by the rules and regulations of the government which include hanging the flag, keeping daily records and keep the schools property in working order. States that school property is under her supervision for 36 weeks, commencing on August 31, 1936. Contract also states that she isn't under contract with any other school district and that she doesn't violate any Iowa codes. It is verified that she holds a valid certificate that meets requirements for teaching. Also stated is that teacher along with students will be provided a building in proper condition, is comfortable and healthy for those who occupy. Each school is provided a suitable flag and flag staff in compliance with the Iowa laws. States what teacher will be provided and what is required of her as far as upkeep of the school grounds is concerned. Also mentions if contact is evoked or expires teacher will no longer receive pay after the contract is done. Signed by teacher Marian F. Wood and President Parker on August 20 , 1936. b. Envelope 9 1/8" wide and 4 1/8 width. Addressed to Miss Marian Wood at 501 1st street in Cedar Falls, Iowa from N. Sutgen Jr in Raymond, Iowa. Three cent stamp in upper right hand corner, purple with George Washington's face. Post marked Aug 21 A.M. 1936 from Raymond Iowa left of stamp. Back of envelope has a scribble towards the center and Marian F Wood in cursive upside down towards the bottom left corner. Color: WH, BK
